Wow, the directions in which technology is moving is sooo impressive.  I know Microsoft's research in images, digital/visual information, etc. is years ahead of commercial use, much less consumer use, but it's mind-boggling to think of the implications of this work.  I love how the company just risks so much to fund this sort of "pie-in-the-sky" work.
